CARE FOR OUR COMMON HOME: Laudato Si

Pope Francis’ 2015 encyclical Laudato Si, translated to “Praise be to you,” incorporates Catholic teaching over thousands of years and calls on all to live out their faith by caring for our Common Home. The words are part of a quotation from St. Francis of Assisi’s Canticle of Creation.

Around the world, faithful people, especially Catholics, are studying this document, mobilizing for policy changes based in this vision, and praying for an “ecological conversion” for themselves and others. We know God is The Creator of all creation, of all living beings. We know Mother Earth is suffering from natural disasters, human actions and lack thereof.

The day of prayer will be an exploration of the encyclical’s major themes and challenges. Reflect on what is possible to make meaningful life changes and to consciously care for Mother Earth and all living beings.

Join in the study. Pray and resolve to offer praise by our life. Find strength to move forward with hope. Courageously become a Laudato Si ambassador for our Common Home & the Common Good of all people.
